Speech night at the Liberal Leadership Convention

Since my regular program was cancelled due to the Convention I will post my opinion on the candidates and whom I would like to see as the Leader of the Liberal Party my choice Gerard Kennedy.

First choice Gerard Kennedy
He is the man and the best choice for the Liberal party with no ties to the old Dogs.

Second choice Stephane Dion
Dion’s soundbite: There is more Culture in a bowl of Yogurt than in the Conservative Party.
He would make a better Prime Minister than Bob Rae.

Ops forgot Michael Ignatieff – Boring wonder why, I feel that he is condescending and during his speech I felt like I was listening to Sesame Street’s Count Dracula.

No choice at all Bob Rae, find him boring and probably will loose an election, if he becomes Leader I will have to vote for him to keep Harper out.

This was posted after Ignatieff finished his boring speech.

Shoppers Beware

After visiting my bank for a new card Oct 11 06 Time 14:10, I decided to check out the new box store Petcetera on Ellice and Empress not impressed at all when I entered it looked like it might be a great place but after walking around, I noticed that it looked kind of disorganized (needs some tiding up), and their prices are inflated (geared towards a membership) the cashier needs training on how to be more observant besides myself and an old lady ahead of me at the check out and when I left with my purchase another lady was behind me, after walking out I started checking my pockets for the five dollars change and then I realized that she didn’t give my change.

I went back and told her that she forgot to give me my change, right of way she said I didn’t serve you, she was trying to exclude herself from being the one that served me, excuse me the only other person standing with you was wearing a red tee shirt and you are wearing a blue one, how could she forget me so soon, she had only 3 customers at the check out when I was there and no one since I left 3 minutes earlier, she finally gave me the five dollars.

After I left I taught it was kind of odd why didn’t she remember me and why didn’t she enter it into the cash register that I gave her $21.36 to cover my total of $16.36 so I could get back $5.00, the till would have displayed the correct change and it would have been recorded on my receipt

Definitely she needs training whenever a customer gives a cashier cash she or he should enter the amount the customer gave them so that it’s entered, recorded and the change is displayed to the cashier and printed on the customers receipt, and that he or she will give out the correct change.

Break-in

On Wednesday October 11 around 5:50 AM I got another uninvited visitor for the second time this year, I was awaken by some noise in my kitchen when I peeked I saw a burglar standing in the kitchen wearing a hood he (I presume that it was a male) was about 5.5 ft tall and wearing shoes, for a burglar you would think he would be wearing runners for better traction for a quick get way.

I did not want to tackle the burglar afraid of what I might do to him or what he might do to me, I yelled out for the burglar to get the hell out, if I had known that the burglar had taken my wallet I might have reacted differently the burglar scattered out thru the back door very quickly, (The last burglar just took the cash in the wallet) I quickly locked the back door and checked the rest of the house to see if there was anyone else, everything was ok, I started to look to see what items the burglar had taken, first one was my wallet with my ID and visa, bank card, etc and five dollars in cash, latter I found out that the burglar had taken a small bottle of essence.

The word must be out that they can use the pet door to gain access; once again I forgot to lock the back door with the padlock and turn on the alarm system.

I could have closed the pet door but the cat drives me crazy when he can’t run outside at night, and for the dog well he is a Shih Tzu and he never was a yapper regardless if you were friendly or foe, he just kept on snoring while the burglar was standing two feet away from him, glad he didn’t hurt him because he is blind, deaf and too old he is just waiting for greener pastures.

The first time that this happened it took a long time to readjust and have a good nights sleep any little noise would awaken me and my heart would be pumping like crazy, I never taught that they would return, but I think that if there is a next time I hope to be awakened before the burglar enters the house and prepare myself for confronting him and that the outcome will have to be a deterrent to stop them from victimizing me once again.

I did report it to the police but there is nothing they can do, it would be a waste of their time to investigate this break in.

Phones should be equipped with a silent option key that will not make a sound when pressing the keys. Otherwise when you start dialing the burglar will ear the phone being used, my phone makes a noise when turned on and when pressing a key.
